Qualifications

Position Profile

Under the direction of the BC1 Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse & Shipping/Receiving Supervisor leads the team whose primary responsibilities include managing inventory, work order stocking, work order picking, continuous improvement work, processing incoming shipments, verifying, and keeping receiving records, preparing outgoing orders for safe shipment, maintaining shipping records, and doing so with accuracy and timeliness. The Supervisor will lead a team of material handlers with the objectives of optimizing the integrity of the inventory through adherence to robust transaction procedures and cycle counting, physical cleanliness and order using standardized 5S, and employee safety through continuous training and world class practices. The Supervisor must train, coach, mentor, and support the team as well as drive its daily management to keep the team performing to its highest potential.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5 years of experience in similar capacity or environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse/stockroom practices warehousing equipment, basic office machines, computer programs
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Excellent supervisory skills, proven experience leading a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • Prior shipping and receiving experience a must

  • Solid knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics

What you’ll do

  • Supervise stockroom, lines support and cycle count personnel as assigned.
  • Oversee Stockroom Lead, helping to determine appropriate picking priorities
  • Oversee Line Support verifying service levels to production floor is met
  • Oversee Cycle Count Coordinator in ensuring inventory accuracies are being monitored and addressed
  • Assign workloads and monitor output levels.
  • Train all personnel in the aspects of their job.
  • Oversee the organization of inventory, racks, and carts.
  • Research and correct stockroom picking errors, and cycle count errors.
  • Perform reviews and take disciplinary action as necessary within company guidelines.
  • Determine departmental need and or/problems; submit suggestions to Warehouse Manager for approval; implement decided changes ensuring the functions of the department continue in a smooth operational manner.
  • Review safety procedures and makes suggestions regarding safety measures to the Safety Committee
  • Perform other duties as directed by Warehouse Manager
  • Follow/Comply with ALL BEGA policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to make sure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments
  • Inspect loading operations to make sure compliant with shipping specifications
  • Inspect material handling equipment for defects, notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside facility for repair
  • Post weight shipping charges
  • Prepare bills of landing and commercial invoices
  • May assist material handlers in receiving or shipping activities or the day-to-day
  • Support cycle count program as needed
  • Support continuous improvement programs
  • Implement process improvements to reduce time, cost, steps or waste in processes or procedures

Performance Measurements

  • Complete performance reviews on time as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, Management, Supervisors and outside carriers
  • Identify problems immediately and use problem solving tools (5why/PDCA) to come to a solution effectively
  • Coach and motivate team to achieve daily goals as outline by KPI’s and Warehouse Manager
  • Maintain inventory accuracy via accurate cycle count and picking processes.
  • Cooperate effectively with Manager and take constructive criticism when given.
  • Department 5S areas, stations, markings and audits
  • Achieve On Time shipment of ALL available orders as outlined by KPI’s and Warehouse Manager
  • Achieve Error free shipment of ALL customer orders as outlined by KPI’s and Warehouse Manager
  • Receipt within specified lead time for each delivery method: air cargo, ocean cargo, domestic
  • Receive ALL incoming shipments with accuracy
  • Coach, Train and Develop team and maintain a positive work environment

Salary Range

$56,970.00 - $71,190.00 Annuallydepending on experience/qualifications reflects the negotiable range for hire. The top of the range, $85,500.00, is reserved for salary advancement and growth for this position.
