Position Title: Instruct Technologist I-CENTP

Position Overview & Job Duties:

Develop instructional materials and products for the technology-based redesign of courses. Design of learning products, including web-based aids or electronic performance support systems. Design of instructional aids for stand-alone or instructor-led classroom or online use. Provide support to faculty and students in the use of instructional technology. Support efforts related to the visual presentation and user experience of IDEA Team products and material.

  • Research emerging applications of instructional multimedia and/or instructional technology applications.
  • Designs and develops support resources such as interactive multimedia, animation, and video.
  • Assists faculty with the instructional application of multimedia technologies and techniques in conjunction with the instructional design team.
  • Designs and sets up video and photo sets.
  • Captures video for instructional materials and products for blended learning courses.
  • Edits video and multimedia projects using recommended software.
  • Provides hardware and software purchasing specifications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in job related field or 4+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Media Arts, Digital Media, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimum four years of experience in graphic design, digital media, instructional technology, educational technology, information systems or computer science. Experience in higher education and distance education with development in the application of various learning technologies.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Effective and appropriate communication skills.
Ability to perform well in a team-based environment.
Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms. Attention to detail and solid follow-up skills.
Ability to work on a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, creative problem solving, and sound judgment.
Solid organization/communication skills.
Proven ability to lead multiple projects within a short development cycle with moderate supervision.
The use of computer equipment and techniques involved in graphic design, interactive design, and digital publishing.
Proficient in user interface, visual design and user experience for web interaction.
Familiar with the principles of graphic and interactive design in composing and producing a variety of promotional materials.
Ability to integrate and coordinate artwork, printing and/or photography to create an appealing design in web-based and printed materials.
