Teacher Created Materials is a 45-year old, award-winning publisher of educational and trade books and digital products.  We are currently in need of a sales professional to oversee our international sales.  The ideal candidate will have a stellar sales pedigree as well as applicable experience in trade and/or educational sales.

Reporting to the Vice President of Trade and Consumer Sales this individual will join a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization that values creative thinking, with a focus on meeting and exceeding goals.

Position Summary:  

TCM is looking for an energetic sales leader who is experienced in distribution & licensing within the International marketplace and will bring deep understanding of current trends. The ideal candidate must have a strong, fearless work ethic, proven track record of leadership and success in meeting and exceeding sale goals. You will be joining a team of strong, successful sales professionals that believe in teamwork, with a large dose of fun & celebration. This is a job that is all about growing new partnerships and expanding existing business relationships. Creative and innovative thinking is welcomed. 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Achieve defined sales objectives.
  • Collaborate in setting strategy and implement said strategy for growing international division. Drive sales opportunities within the assigned territories and accounts. 
  • Seek out new international partners (reps, distributors, customers) and establish relationships.
  • Develop new business opportunities leveraging network of customers, current client relationships, and prospect leads.
  • Serve as main point of contact for all international reps and groups.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with responsive account management.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required
  • 5+ years in sales focusing on international licensing and distribution within the publishing sector. Trade or Educational publishing experience preferred.
  • Highly articulate, solid communicator and fast learner.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong business and technical knowledge.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven success as an account executive/sales manager in previous roles.
  • Experience negotiating publishing licensing agreements.
  • Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic and excellent track record of success.
  • Experience using a customer relationship management database.
  • Conversant in language other than English, a plus.
  • Frequent travel required. 
  • Must have current passport.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular travel by airplane and automobile.  
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. when traveling and/ or carrying materials to and from sales meetings and destinations.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
