Description

Glenwood Medical Center is seeking a Clinic LPN to work on a casual basis, assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with patient care. The LPN will maintain a high standard of quality healthcare and inform and support patients while practicing within the scope of their license. Casual status is 2-3 shifts per quarter and a weekend rotation at the Glenwood Medical Center Walk-In Clinic, approx. 1:10+ weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean, prepare and restock exam rooms.
  • Assess patients as to severity of complaint or injury and the expediency to which should be seen by physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
  • Assist physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant with procedures as directed.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as ordered.
  • Direct patients to other locations within the facility as needed.
  • Schedule mammograms, CT scans, ultrasounds, surgery, or any outpatient procedures as directed.
  • Perform hearing and tympanogram tests for individuals and companies; UA collection for routine and company drug screens; ear washes; BPV’s; EKG’s; immunizations; dressing changes.
  • Send reports of pap smears, mammogram results or any follow-up calls (including Labs) to patients under the direction of the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
  • Provide patient education as directed.
  • Ensure all pertinent patient information is documented in the EMR.
  • Send requests to the Referral Coordinator for appointments with other specialty clinics and physicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Schedule

  • Casual
  • 2-3 shifts per quarter
  • Weekend rotation at Glenwood Medical Center’s Walk-In Clinic, approx. 1:10+

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Current LPN in the state of Minnesota.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Team building.

Performance Standards:
