Position Overview

 

The primary responsibility of the Program Manager is to oversee and successfully implement the design-your-own fellowship program from candidate outreach and recruitment to application reviews and selection, to supporting Fellows throughout their fellowship term and offboarding. The Program Manager interfaces with over 130 current fellows and processes over 400 fellowship applications annually. The position works closely with a team of regional portfolio managers under the supervision of the Director, Fellowships.

  

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and implement the application outreach strategy and application launch in conjunction with the marketing and communications team and law school engagement team.
     
  • Manage and administer the full-cycle selection processes, including designing application review criteria, recruiting and training of external reviewers and scoring, preparing candidate applications for sponsors, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks and Fellow onboarding.
     
  • Manage delivery of training and informational presentations to current and prospective Fellows, host organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage Fellow orientation, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
     
  • Maintain active contact with current Fellows and host organizations, acting as program advisor to provide individualized programmatic and administrative support to support the success of their project and fellowships experience.
  • Manage fellowship program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities, including developing surveys and evaluation tools to track and monitor program success.
     
  • Ensure consistent implementation and continuous improvement of standard fellowship operating procedures and policies.
     
  • Engage in the planning and execution of unit-wide Fellow learning and networking initiatives, including the annual Leadership Development Training (LDT) and other trainings as needed throughout the year.
     
  • Coordinate regular Fellow communications pieces such as a quarterly newsletter in coordination across all Fellowship programs.
     
  • Oversee fellowship payment disbursements, maintain program records and produce reports to management.
     
  • Train, mentor and supervise direct report.
     
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, JD or other relevant advanced degree preferred. Relevant work experience may be substituted for preferred education.
  • Five years of progressively complex professional experience.
  • Project Management Professional certification strongly preferred.
  • Candidate should have extensive knowledge of the public interest law sector, understanding of social justice issues, and familiarity with non-profit organizations.
  • Ability to manage relationships across various constituencies utilizing strong interpersonal skills, including outreach and communication skills, with good customer service orientation.
  • Self-starter and ability to manage up.
  • Great project management skills. Proactive problem-solver with ability to prioritize.
  • Supervisory experience. Experience mentoring/coaching, and/or HR experience a plus.

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have experience using databases, Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience a plus.
  • Some familiarity with SaaS including SurveyMonkey, Dropbox, Zoom, Calendly, and Trello, etc. a plus.

 

Location

Temporarily remote, however, typical daily activities are conducted in a typical office environment.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  This position has been budgeted at $62,000 and will not exceed that rate at this time!
