- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
- Experience in public policy, government relations, or a related role.
- Understanding of legislative processes and policy development.
- Advocacy experience at the local, state, or federal level (preferably all three). Familiarity with digital advocacy tools and platforms is a plus.
- Understanding of and familiarity with issues of poverty.
- Public Policy knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability: ability to manage information from several different sources, draw conclusions and formulate strategy.
- Skills in computer applications i.e., word processing and database management.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.
- Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.
- Some travel is required.
- Early morning, evening or weekend work may be necessary to attend events, meetings or in response to disaster work. Flexibility with schedule required.
- This position requires driving, clean driving record, driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
