Description

Objective of Position
To provide administrative and clerical support to the staff of the YWCA GLA Child Development Center. To cultivate membership and be a part of the YWCA GLA team that provides secretarial support.

Statement of Duties

  • Maintain knowledge of all current requirements for clients receiving subsidized services in accordance with the Education Code, the California Department of Education's Title 5 regulations, Community Care Licensing Title 22 regulations and administrative requirements
  • Perform various administrative and clerical tasks: typing, filing, data entry, set-up and clean-up for meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain an organized and comfortable front office/reception and waiting area.
  • Handle multiple routine questions regarding the agency, answer and direct telephone calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of Child Development and client information.
  • Sort and distribute mail, faxes and packages
  • Travel occasionally to conduct Child Development business such as errands, meetings, etc.
  • Create and/or distribute internal publications: calendars, flyers, memos, etc.
  • Enroll clients, including initial certification of eligibility and need for services for various programs
  • Maintain knowledge of all current requirements for clients receiving subsidized services in accordance with appropriate agencies
  • Ensure licensing, attendance and other files are current, confidential and secure
  • Calculate family fees based on agency's contract fee schedule
  • Transfer student files/enrollments from site to site
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary: $20.50/hr.

Qualifications

  • Administrative experience in a child development environment REQUIRED
  • Knowledge or las and regulations pertaining to student enrollment in Child Development Programs
  • AA degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Basic office practices including filing systems, computer usage
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and internet software
  • CA Driver's License and automobile insurance
  • Must pass background check through California Department of Justice
  • CA driver license with required auto insurance
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
