Position: Adjunct Instructor Biology
Reports To: Department Chair
Classification: Exempt
Core Responsibilities: Teaching 6-9 credit hours. The successful candidate should have experience in teaching courses in Biology, specifically Human Anatomy and Physiology or Microbiology.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 3-9 hours of biology courses.
- Participating in department activities.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in Biology, with 18 graduate credit hours in Biology or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
- Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field is preferred.
- Evidence of teaching potential is essential.
- The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard, hybrid courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.
- The ability to lift 10lb, 1% of the time
- Position may require some walking and the ability to climb stairs
