LSB Industries is looking to hire an Asset Care Excellence Engineer for our Pryor, Oklahoma facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and serving as a leader within the team, the Asset Reliability Engineer provides organization, planning, and direction for asset reliability.  The Asset Care Excellence Engineer uses technical knowledge combined with analytical thinking and process experience to solve process, maintenance, and technical challenges.  This role plans, coordinates, and executes all activities associated with the asset reliability program.  Prioritizes and coordinates all equipment life cycle activities by developing outage/turnaround scope and managing technical documentation for their assigned area(s).  The Asset Care Excellence Engineer is the main liaison between production and maintenance, engineering, and third-party subject matter experts for asset reliability, increasing equipment availability, and asset capacity utilization (or OEE).  

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

 

  • Priorities and communicates risks to equipment reliability and long-term operability of equipment.
  • Develops equipment strategies that improve long-term uptime of the plant. This includes identification of the critical spare equipment/spare parts and determination of their inventory parameters, enhancement of the Preventive Maintenance program, e.g., condition-based, as well as development of a plan for asset preservation and rationalization projects in the assigned areas.
  • Performs data analysis of equipment reliability, and/or repair frequencies to identify bad actors and develop measures to improve or replace the assets.
  • Leads or takes part in cross-functional teams, e.g., Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma Teams, Investigations, or Equipment Improvement Teams.
  • Prepares and submits monthly reports summarizing the status of major maintenance and reliability activities and their on-going capital projects to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Leads the Capital project input and budgeting process for his/her area of responsibility.
  • Develops and Manage maintenance outage and turnaround scopes.  Coordinates with reliability and project engineering teams execution of work during outages
  • Leads and coordinates Root Cause Analysis investigations for all bad actors and significant reliability incidents.  Responsibility for follow up assignment and tracking of corrective actions. 
  • Manages Management of Change (MOC) process for assigned areas.
  • Supports mechanical integrity (MI) inspection program, including Piping, tanks, vessels and structural equipment.  Prioritizes corrective actions and follow-up requirements identified.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Chemical engineering degree with 3 years’ experience
  • Experience within the PSM covered Chemical/Process or Petrochemical Industry are required.
  • Working knowledge of fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment failure modes and works with operations team to perform failure mode analysis and root cause investigation with cross-functional team’s input.
  • The incumbent should have experience developing solid working relationships with operation personnel and must be willing to teach and mentor production personnel.

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

 

  • Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 continuous chemical processing facility around dust, chemicals, high temperature, loud noises, and running equipment.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots and hearing protection) in addition to full face respirator as necessary in emergencies.
  • Must be able to lift as much as 25 lbs.
  • This position is safety and security sensitive in nature.
