Marketing Specialist

This positions essential purpose is to provide support for books and calendars in developing and executing business to business (B2B) marketing efforts, including point-of-sale materials (displays, event signage), sales catalogs, B2B shows (booksellers, librarians), and trade advertising.

Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Manage AMPs B2B marketing programs to meet deadlines and budgets with a focus on efficiently increasing sales in the book trade, gift channel, and calendar sales force and grow sales of books and calendars
  • Support efforts in business to consumer (B2C) marketing for newer development products (e.g. audiobooks, RPG category) with a focus on efficiently increasing sales
  • Develop timely, relevant materials to support the AMP Books and Calendars Sales teams, e.g. promotional materials, galleys, sell sheets
  • Responsible for design and production of all book and calendar catalogs:
    • Project management of design and production to complete all catalogs on time and on budget
    • Development of high-quality catalog copy
    • Optimization and maintenance of AMPs presence in the Edelweiss catalog system, including exploring and executing new opportunities for visibility to / relationship building with buyers
  • Support AMPs presence at trade shows: planning and execution, e.g. booth design, staffing, maintenance, scheduling, stocking and promotion
  • Handle production of point-of-sale displays for both books and calendars, working with sales on development, production and delivery on time and in budget


  • Excellent written and verbal communication to clearly articulate needs and direction to AMP associates, vendors, and freelance partners
  • Strong project management and planning skills, including proactive organization, time management, prioritization, and planning
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide innovative solutions
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Understanding of the book and calendar sales process
  • Persuasive copywriting
  • Ability to contribute constructive feedback on creative projects


  • Bachelors Degree with a focus in Public Relations/Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field
  • 1-2 years marketing experience
  • 1-2 years successful project management, especially working in a team-centered environment


  • Experience working in Publishing or Agency
  • Trade Show Experience
