Description

The Construction Controller would oversee the daily processing of income and expenses for construction functions and related companies and assist with all OTOW entities.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the financial month end and year end fiscal closes for construction functions and related companies and assist with all OTOW entities excluding food and beverage.
  • Monitor and reconcile job cost accounting for construction and land development projects.
  • Prepare financial schedules and general ledger reconciliations, review financial statements for accuracy, and oversee financial report distribution to the CFO, President, and department managers.  Design new reports within the accounting software as requested or required.
  • Analyze financial data and monitor adherence to operational budgets of construction functions and related companies and assist with OTOW entities. Work with respective department managers to manage operations and avoid budget variances while maintaining appropriate levels of service and quality of product.
  • Oversee construction estimating team and the preparation of budgets for model homes.
  • Oversee remittance of sales, tangible, and real estate taxes.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five to seven years of management accounting experience, at least two years of supervisor experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years of job costing, billing and project accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of real estate development and property owner association management a plus.
  • Experience on Timberline or other multi-module accounting software.
  • Experience in accounting for high volume multi residential housing
