SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the overall development, planning, coordination, delivery, and execution of AMPP managed conferences, seminars, and similar events including program scheduling, logistics planning, leading cross functional staff teams, and the strategic management of volunteers who contribute to these efforts ensuring the achievement of organizational net revenue goals and the growth of Products, Programs and Services (PPS).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Developing individual conference scopes, schedules, and budget goals to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content meeting industry needs.
• Leading internal cross functional teams and external volunteer stakeholder teams from conference conception through implementation and evaluation.
• Building customer relationships that lead to developing new programs that meet an industry need and generate positive marginal revenue.
• Collaborating with product owners organization-wide to drive innovation and cross-functional product development and delivery.
• Managing frequent and effective communications with volunteers, speakers, and staff who contribute to events.
• Negotiating agreements for outside event services such as audio visual equipment rental, food and beverage, shuttle busses, entertainment, field or tour fees, etc.
• Overseeing, directing and monitoring conference vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of contracted services.
• Collaborating with IT Department, First Service Department and all appropriate internal and external service providers to ensure effective registration processes and communication.
• Serving as the primary staff contact for selected events 24/7 while on-site.
• Partnering with AMPP’s contracted hotel provider/negotiator to secure hotel for events assigned by the Manager, Conferences.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Travel is expected 30-50% of time and passport is required.
• Ability to get visa for major countries.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree, required; minimum of four (4) years work experience, with demonstrated success in multi-conference management and volunteer management for non-profit or for-profit organization/company. CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) designation, desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, employees of the organization, customers, and the general public.
