JOB SUMMARY

The IT Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all internal IT functions in the organization. This includes directing all IT operations to meet internal requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management including Internal Security practices
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
  • Coordinate with engineers and other professionals to provide guidance
  • Control budget and report on expenditure
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts when needed.
  • Education programs for internal staff on internal applications and solutions
  • Support contracts for internal use equipment
  • Participate and coordinate in negotiating contracts with Service Providers as needed

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provider leadership, direction and supervision of direct and indirect reports in a manner that drives outcomes for the organization
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses as they occur
  • Enter all work as activities, service tickets, or project tickets
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of IT applications, processes, software and equipment
  • Service awareness of all organizations key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Results oriented and self-motivated
