Cumberland International Trucks in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Parts Manager to lead our Parts department with a growth mindset. The Parts Manager is responsible for operating a profitable and efficient parts department operation. The Parts Manager responsibility is to satisfy dealership customer parts needs by proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising. This position ensures that each location and Cumberland as a whole meets the sales goals on a monthly and annual basis.
*Earn $70k-90k a year plus monthly bonus (based on experience)!

Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Parts Manager are to fulfill customer parts needs in the most efficient and accurate manner by:

  • Responding to customer parts or information requests quickly
  • Communicating with customers when a delay in response will occur and offering alternatives
  • Recording information carefully and identifying needed parts using most efficient method
  • Determining the price information and documenting this information as necessary based on the market
  • Ensuring that parts personnel can provide parts to customers from stock, procuring locally or creating a parts order as directed
  • Ensuring that the counterpersons correctly document and complete the part sale on parts invoice
  • Monitoring the status of customer orders, advising in case of problems and notifying upon arrival
  • Assisting counterpersons with above tasks as possible and ensuring that the proper inventory is in place at all times
  • Ensuring the organization and maintenance of the customer counter area, including pricing and application materials
  • Maintenance of the Special Order bins that serve outside customers
  • Organization and maintenance of the customer display and self-service areas
  • Ensuring the replenishing of stock in the customer display and self-service areas
  • Ensuring the proper number of turns of inventory in a set time frame
  • Managing the price margins on a daily and monthly basis, ensuring the goals are met per the parts annual budget

Additional secondary duties are to be performed as allowed by available time and include:

  • Directing the inventory control maintenance, including bin check and correction
  • General department organization and maintenance duties as directed by Parts Manager
  • Ensure that all employees in the Parts Department observe the company's Core Values.

Qualifications

The Parts Manager position provides vital leadership and direction to the Parts Department Team, one who has a direct impact on parts sales and customer satisfaction. Accordingly, specific personal qualities and abilities are required for successful performance in this position, including:

  • Customer appreciation, a desire to satisfy customers and the ability to instill customer confidence

  • Basic PC (Personal Computer) access skills and basic understanding of PC systems
  • The knowledge and ability to apply basic mathematics
  • High School degree or equivalent, college degree is desired.
  • The ability to communicate via written messages, including neat, legible handwriting
  • Multi-tasking ability, especially in dealing with interruptions and quick acknowledgements
  • The ability to remain aware of surrounding people and elements while concentrating on a task

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive or truck mechanics
  • Parts department experience, particularly in a truck dealership or truck aftermarket environment
  • Trade school education in Parts Operations or Transportation Technology
  • An ability to recognize opportunities for process and operational improvement
