SUMMARY:
Logan University is seeking an effective and detail-oriented professional to join our Admissions team as the Admissions Database Manager. The Admissions Database Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the admissions database system at Logan UniversitySlate by Technolutions. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the Admissions operation team and ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the admissions database and processes. This role will also play a vital role in developing and preparing admissions data and reporting to inform our strategic enrollment goals.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Slate Database Management:

  • Oversee and manage Slate by Technolutions, the admissions database platform, to support Admissions’ efforts to be data-informed, forward-looking, and streamlined in our systems and processes.
  • Ensure proper configuration and utilization of Slate features to enhance admissions processes and student experience.
  • Assist with the initial building and implementation of Slate in the Office of Admissions.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of Slate to ensure the system functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Slate-related data issues promptly.

2. Training, Support, and Supervision:

  • Supervise and lead the Operations team by providing support, structure, and oversight for the Admissions Operation Assistants.
  • Assist with training and preparing new admissions employees to use Slate upon hire.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to Admissions staff on Slate related processes, procedures, and functionality.

3. Data Entry and Processing:

  • Oversee the timely and accurate entry of student information into Slate, including transcripts, letters of recommendations, statements of motivation, and other pertinent admissions materials.
  • Evaluate changes in admissions requirements and curriculum and incorporate these into existing admissions processes and software.
  • Collaborate with Admissions staff to streamline data entry and application processes in Slate.
  • Maintain and record documentation of departmental processes.

4. Reporting:

  • Generate regular and/or ad-hoc reports within Slate to support admissions decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Marketing and Alumni Relations, to provide data for institution-wide enrollment initiatives.

5. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Admissions and Logan Information Technology team to integrate Slate within Logan’s data ecosystem (SIS, Alumni database, Marketing software, etc).
  • Work closely with the Director of Admissions to align Slate and its functionality with overall admissions and recruitment strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of related experience in a professional environment.
  • Experience and proficiency in database management, preferably with Slate or in an educational/admissions setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and remain curious in an evolving system and process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills. Strong listening and problem-solving abilities with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience and proficiency in SQL and HTML preferred.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism, and to handle sensitive student information.
  • Commitment to the vision, mission and values of Logan University.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.


COMPUTER SKILLS:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Slate by Technolutions, and Microsoft products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams. Applicants must also have an ability to learn new programs as needed.
