Description

I. GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE:

Provides support in implementing faith formation and sacramental preparation programs. Coordinates volunteers and supports special events as required. Facilitates parishioner engagement and communication via digital tools. This position will average 20 hours per week and will require weekend hours. The position is not eligible for benefits but is eligible for prorated vacation and holiday pay.

II. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:

A. Supports parish faith formation programs, including records management and coordination of parishioner engagement via church management software.

B. Assists in the coordination of sacramental preparation programs (RCIA, RCIA adapted for children, infant Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Marriage). Advises parishioners on preparation processes for each sacrament.

C. Assists in recruiting and scheduling lay liturgical ministers and provides liturgical assistance as needed. Reviews and assists in maintaining current instructional guidance for lay liturgical roles.

D. Assists in recruiting and maintaining the administrative readiness of parish volunteers.

E. Attends planning meetings related to faith formation, liturgical, and parish life events, as well as staff objectives, strategies, and goals.

F. Prepares parish announcements for various channels and correspondence as assigned.

G. Assist with inventory of educational and liturgical supplies and re-orders as appropriate.

H. Performs other duties as assigned.

II. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. General faith formation records management.
B. Implement ParishStaq for faith formation groups and communications.
C. Assists with development and implementation of ParishStaq process queues for all sacrament prep.
D. Admin Coord for all volunteers (esp. faith formation and lay liturgical ministers (LLM)), including volunteer forms, SE status, SOPs for volunteer roles.
E. Implement ParishStaq for lay liturgical minister schedules.

Qualifications

Must be a practicing Catholic. Must have strong organization skills, interpersonal and customer service skills. Must have a demonstrated aptitude for leveraging technology. Strong preference for those experienced in parish faith formation work as a staff member or volunteer. 

 

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
