Applications are being accepted for a full-time Animal Care Specialist in the Australian Adventure and Indiana Family Farm. This section includes kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, Aldabra tortoises, domestic hoofstock, Australian and domestic birds, grey short-tailed opossums, and Australian and native reptile and amphibians.
Responsibilities: The Animal Care Specialist performs work necessary to provide basic daily animal care for zoo animals, ensures appropriate animal wellbeing, and performs husbandry practices such as operant conditioning, enrichment strategy, and assisting with husbandry and enclosure furnishing design. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in an animal-related field and one year of experience in a zoological setting are preferred. High school diploma or GED is required.
