Job Summary: 

The Controller will serve as a trusted business, accounting, and financial leader at Wellinks. They will play a critical role, using data-driven insights and analysis to inform financial and operational decision-making across the company. You will be working closely with the members of the executive team and that will offer the opportunity to help drive long-term value creation for the company.  This a leadership role that will oversee accounting, A/P, A/R, and finance operations.  This position requires a deep understanding of GAAP accounting rules and regulations as well as the ability to business partner with all members of the organization.

Qualifications

Responsibilities: 

  • This position is responsible for building and designing all the financial functions, as well as overseeing daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, sales and use tax, and fixed assets for multiple reporting entities.
  • Identifying key partners and assessing/implementing key financial controls and processes as the organization grows.
  • Review, maintain and renew all insurance (examples:  general liability, medical malpractice, cyber security, etc), business licenses, etc.
  • Engage and oversee activities of external accountants and auditors.
  • Managing all intercompany accounting and ensure appropriate flow of funds, in accordance with the management services agreement, to support accounting, tax, and compliance reporting.
  • Providing and communicating to the executive team accurate and timely financial records, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, in accordance with GAAP and corporate policy.
  • Update capitalization table based on business changes and run analysis for scenario planning.
  • Serve as a strategic and operational finance advisor to Executive Team function owners by collaborating effectively across functions and programs to understand key business drivers, and how such drivers affect performance.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and duties as required, such as partnering assessments and board presentations.
  • Manage treasury and investments.
  • Experience with finances related to billing and coding.  Familiar with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and working with payer organizations.
  • Facilitate supply chain related activities in NetSuite for cost accounting and inventory reconciliation.
  • Promote a mindset of simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Thorough knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, financial analysis and forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong business partnering and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge in developing, evaluating, maintaining, and monitoring an effective internal control environment.
  • Highly accountable, collaborative, transparent and comfortable operating and networking in a fast-paced organization.
  • Critical thinker and highly analytical; able to operate at both a strategic (big picture) and operational (small picture) level; strong business & financial acumen including tactical and strategic thinking.
  • Experience in treasury administration including payments and simple investments.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with users.
  • Commitment to quality and effective project management.
  • Previous experience managing and developing people.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in healthcare (independent practice administrative, finance/health services startup, etc.)
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in public form.
  • Healthtech start-up / scale-up experience.
  • Experience with inventory tracking.
  • Experience with consolidated financial statements.
