Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Belding, Michigan, Flat River Group, LLC is leading end-to-end eCommerce partner that works with vendors to take their businesses to the next level by accelerating eCommerce sales growth. We sell a variety of products as a 1st Party Seller, including toys & games, pets, baby, outdoor sporting goods, housewares, and more. Flat River Group has experienced incredible growth over the years, and we now have 4 US-based distribution facilities.

 

We’re currently seeking an HR Coordinator/Recruiter to join our dedicated Human Resources team. This position will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified individuals for our growing teams. This candidate will be responsible for sourcing, recruiting, screening, and interviewing candidates to fill current and future job openings in various segments of the company. This individual will meet regularly with department leaders and Human Resources counterparts to jointly form staffing plans for forecasted headcount changes. The Recruiter will become familiar with our industry, company culture, and hiring managers’ needs.  

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tasks seamlessly, work well in a team, communicate professionally, and possess a profound interest in recruiting for Flat River Group’s rapidly growing business.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • HR Coordination: Support various HR functions, including maintaining employee records, coordinating time and attendance with payroll, collaborating with warehouse leadership on performance management and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Employee Communication: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, helping to provide timely information and resolve HR-related issues.
  • Administrative HR Support: Assist with various HR projects and work closely with the HR team to support key initiatives and foster a cohesive, high-functioning HR department.
  • Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with the HR Manager and department heads to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Job Postings & Sourcing: Create and post job openings on job boards and actively source candidates.
  • Screening & Interviewing: Review resumes, conduct phone screenings, and arrange interviews with hiring managers.
  • Interview Coordination: Schedule and coordinate interviews, gather feedback, and ensure smooth communication between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, from initial contact to final offer.
  • Offer Management & Onboarding: Draft job offers, negotiate salaries, and initiate the onboarding process, including background checks.
  • Applicant Tracking System (Paycom): Maintain the ATS by ensuring candidate data is updated and track each candidate's progress.
  • Recruiting Metrics - Establish and maintain recruitment metrics in collaboration with the HR Manager to track the effectiveness of hiring strategies, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with company goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with both employees and job candidates.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to recruitment, hiring, and employment compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required; experience with advanced features is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is preferred, with experience in Paycom considered highly advantageous. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
  • Capability to stand and move around for tasks that may require mobility.
  • Excellent vision and hearing skills to perform job responsibilities effectively through in person, telephone, and written communication.
  • Capacity to engage in verbal communication, actively listen, and respond appropriately.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in HR is required; recruiting, or staffing experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages, is highly preferred.
  • Required to travel occasionally with overnight stays to our corporate location in Michigan.
