Reports to: Global Corporate Controller

 

Job Qualifications:

  1. BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required and at least 3 years of general ledger accounting preferred.
  2. Should be able to independently initiate, prioritize, and perform or solve work problems and ultimately achieve work objectives and meet deadlines.
  3. Follow written (Standard Operating Procedures -SOP’s, company memos & emails) and verbal instructions.
  4. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.).
  5. Excellent analytical skills, sound understanding of accounting principles.
  6. Ability to accurately prepare reports for management.
  7. Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  8. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  9. Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  10. Interpersonal skills (ability to work with all levels from hourly to management).

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining general ledger records and reconciliation of accounts, monthly and at year-end.  Work closely with the Global Corporate Controller and other Finance Department managers to ensure internal controls are adequate and are being followed and month-end tasks, including reconciliation, are occurring within internal timelines.  In addition, though not limited to, this role will assist the Controller and Assistant Controller with annual audit prep work and document submission, be responsible for month-end tasks to assist in the preparation of the internal consolidated financial statements and perform monthly tasks such as posting manual journal entries.

Job Duties:

  1. Assist in the reconciliation of subsidiary general ledger monthly, in line with month-end close schedule.
  2. Responsible for capital expenditure tracking, including additions, construction-in-progress additions and transfers, disposals, etc.
  3. Track, post, and reconcile prepaid expenses.
  4. Posting of monthly manual journal entries, including though not limited to, monthly depreciation and amortization, prepaid expenses, payroll and benefit accruals, etc.
  5. Reconciliation of assigned accounts, including any roll-forward, documentation, or workbook preparation necessary monthly.
  6. Assist in researching and resolving accounting issues.
  7. Assist in documenting policies and procedures for finance department.
  8. Assist in annual audit.
  9. Assist with implementation of new systems, controls, policies and procedures to support growth and expansion.
  10. Assist with the accomplishment of annual departmental goals.
  11. In a backup capacity create and maintain product IDs, review and update standard costs as needed for each product ID and inventory site.
  12. In a backup capacity assist in maintaining cost accounting system, including new creation and maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOMs) in coordination with production management.
  13. Engage in LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives.

  16. May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee.
  17. Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed.
  18. Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability.
  19. Must adhere to all company policies.
  20. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  21. Follow all SOPs in a given area.
  22. Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or designee.
