Eastside Preparatory School’s vision is to inspire students to create a better world. Our mission is to guide students to think critically, act responsibly, lead compassionately, and innovate wisely. The four mission components guide the development of curriculum as well as the evolution of the EPS culture. Founded in 2002, Eastside Prep was re-accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) in January 2019. Eastside Prep has grown from 17 students in 2003-2004 to a projected total of 540 students for academic year 2024-2025.


Job Summary: As a Technology Teacher at Eastside Prep, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a modern, dynamic technology program. This program includes technology electives, seminars, independent studies, student access to makerspaces, and co-curricular programs such as robotics, electric car conversion, and EPS R&D. Candidates are expected to contribute their expertise to this environment and be open to expanding their knowledge into other domains. The specific roles and responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate's interests and abilities in collaboration with the tech team.


Roles and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching technology electives and seminars
  • Mentoring students in independent projects and studies
  • Managing the Upper School makerspace
  • Coaching co-curricular programs such as FTC robotics and EPS R&D team
  • Collaborating with students and the tech team to develop tools with technology

Technology Used at Eastside Prep

  • Primary Programming languages: Python, Java with some JavaScript in Web Design
  • Makerspace Tools: 3D Printers (Prusa), Laser cutters (Universal, Epilog, Glowforge), Metal CNC (Tormach)

  • Experience working with faculty, 5th – 12th grade students and their parents

  • Java and Python
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Familiarity with makerspace tools
  • CAD and CAM experience

Credentials and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, students, and parents
  • Strong capacity to pick up new skills and seek out solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Our competitive salary range for a full-time teacher is $62,500 to $108,500, based on experience.
