The four mission components guide the development of curriculum as well as the evolution of the EPS culture. Founded in 2002, Eastside Prep was re-accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) in January 2019. Eastside Prep has grown from 17 students in 2003-2004 to a projected total of 530 students for academic year 2023-2024.

Job Summary: Reports to the Upper School Head. Responsibilities will include developing curriculum and teaching primarily upper-level programming courses (programming 2, adv. programming: algorithms & data structures, adv. programming: topics in computer science) with a willingness to learn new curriculum in web design and digital fabrication. While not required, interest in coaching the First Tech Challenge robotics team is a plus. Upper-level computer science electives are primarily taught in the Java programming language.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following areas

  • Experience working with 5th 12th grade students
  • Experience working with faculty
  • Java Programming
  • Desire to continually learn new things
  • Tenacious Problem Solver
  • Enjoys a fast-paced work environment

Candidate should have some experience or be excited to learn the following

  • HTML / CSS / Javascript
  • Makerspace tools (3D printers, Laser cutters, etc.)

Credentials and Experience

  • Strong people skills with both colleagues and students required
  • Experience with Robotics, Arduinos and electronics a plus
  • Experience with CAD and CAM software a plus
  • Strong capacity to pick up new skills and seek out solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Compensation

  • Our competitive salary range for a full time position is $62,500 to $108,500, based on experience.
