Teacher Resources Associate - Onboarding & Support

What You’ll Do:

 

The Teacher Resources Associate provides onboarding and continuing support for Participate Learning’s cultural exchange teachers. The Teacher Resources Associate is responsible for the successful arrival and orientation of all new international teachers, facilitating a smooth transition to their new environment, and for all related and ongoing logistical support for teachers in the program.


 

Teacher Onboarding Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide excellent  daily customer service and support to 1500+ U.S. based international teachers, through online chats, phone & email, ensuring timely and thorough responses that ensure a positive experience for international teachers throughout their program.

  • Work with the rest of the Teacher Resources team to ensure smooth onboarding experience for new Ambassador Teachers.

  • Work with the Teacher Resources Team in successful recruitment and implementation of Local Adviser Program.

  • Use problem-solving skills as well as knowledge of cultural adjustment, cross-cultural communications, and the U.S. education system to identify issues affecting international educators and work with the Teacher Resources  Manager and Teacher Resources team to provide guidance and solutions to these issues.

  • Work as part of the Teacher Resource team to implement key educator processes such as renewals, visa extensions, surveys, internal projects, etc.

  • Help to  engage international teachers in online collaboration, chats, resources, program materials and professional development.

  • Work with Teacher Resource Manager to coordinate and host regular online hours and topics that are relevant to our teachers.

Experience You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree  (Education, Communications, Business or International Studies or related field) or equivalent experience and education.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Experience living abroad and/or second language preferred (Spanish or Mandarin).

  • Experience in customer service.

  • Strong organizational skills in routine as well as time-sensitive situations, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow through.

  • Analytical and pragmatic problem solving skills, applying good discretion and judgment.

  • Comfortable with the use of technology and tech tools for communication, documentation, and community building. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to influence and positively lead change and transition.

  • Ability to work weekends and/or evenings as required.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time visiting and developing key accounts in NC and VA.  

  • Strong preference for NC or VA based candidates.
