Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

The buyer is responsible for planning, ordering, coordinating, and monitoring products through the complete purchase cycle

Buyer Job Duties:

  • Creates a replenishment plan that enables order fulfillment while maximizing the efficiency of the production department.
  • Manage the purchasing cycle, including PO creation, PO follow-up, goods reception and final payment.
  • Supplier relationship management. Form partnerships with suppliers based on mutual business value principles: compatibility of interests, mutual need, openness and trust. Monitor supplier performance with a system that monitors, measures and provides feedback on supplier performance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to consistently deliver products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Calculate and report Weekly and Monthly KPI’s. Develop and use metrics to analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Contribute to the success of the corporation by participating in Six Sigma initiatives is a plus, suggesting operating improvements processes & productivity, reduce expenses, improve communications, and utilize best business practices in conjunction with corporate policies & procedures
  • Make adjustments as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Must be available to work all shifts and days of the week.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of inventory control, production, manufacturing and scheduling
  • Have detailed knowledge of manufacturing planning, master production
  • Scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements
  • Planning, capacity requirements planning, shop floor control, warehousing,
  • Transportation and purchasing business functions
  • APICS CSCP or CPIM certification desired
  • The ability to manage inventories in a 7 day/week, multiple shift operation.
  • The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications. Advanced Excel is necessary.
  • Outstanding leadership, customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work flexible hours.
  • A track record of promoting productivity and accuracy
  • Superior organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
