Reports To: Director of Elementary School

Compensation: $25.75 per hour

New Roads' Elementary School is seeking an Elementary School After Care Supervisor for the 2024-2025 school year. The Elementary School After Care Supervisor  position provides a safe, fun, and enriching environment during after school hours of 3:15pm - 5:30pm each day for our Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Our goal is to provide an engaging space to allow children to have fun and learn using both organized and open ended activities as our students transition between their school day and home. This position requires a professional and friendly demeanor with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

This position begins Tuesday, August 27  through Thursday, June 5, 2025.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise safe outdoor and indoor play activities
  • Monitor playground areas and other school areas as assigned
  • Regular communication with Director and teachers
  • Assure student behavior is consistent with school day expectations
  • Assist in resolving student conflicts
  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance
  • Facilitate homework assistance activities including management of personal belongings
  • Provide snack for after care students
  • Work in an outdoor environment unless inclement weather
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Experience working with children, preferably in a group setting (1+ years)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid Certified (preferred)
  • Passion for working with children
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Ability to work in loud, lively, fast paced environment
  • Desire to learn and grow
