POSITION SUMMARY:

Meeting the needs of bank customers and the community through the extension of commercial, agricultural, real estate and consumer credit at a profitable rate.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

Service:                                             

  • Develops commercial, agricultural, real estate and consumer loan accounts by interviewing applicants, gathering and evaluating financial and related data to establish credit worthiness, establish and re-negotiates credit terms.
  • Manages loan portfolio and insures compliance to lending policies and procedures by monitoring customers financial condition, repayment progress, writing loan comments, making customer calls, inspecting files for and securing current information.
  • Closes loans using proper documentation, and continually monitors customers’ financial condition and repayment progress. Assesses customers’ banking and financial needs.
  • Manages the banking needs of portfolio by communicating regularly with customers; reviewing documentation and financial records; monitoring payment schedules; conducting customer visits.
  • Works directly with customers to orient them to the required documentation for obtaining or paying off loans.

Sales:                                                

  • Expands bank’s customer base, increases the bank’s visibility and enhances new business opportunities by prospecting potential customers, participating in the officer call program, fostering business relationships with realtors, automobile and machinery dealers, participating in community affairs.
  • Cross-sells bank products by answering inquiries; informing customers of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customers’ needs; directing customers to a branch representative.

Other Duties:                                     

  • Prepares lending reports for bank review by the loan committee or supervisor.  Presents loans exceeding loan limits to the loan committee.  Protects the bank’s assets by monitoring the watch list credits, developing an action plan for classified credits to up-grade their status. 
  • Processes collection of charge off loans and accounts.
  • Assists in Business development efforts throughout the bank.
  • May be assigned specific workout and collection duties.
  • May be required to register annually with the National Registry Service providing the required information and authorization to bank management to complete fingerprinting and a background check, according to the requirements of the SAFE Act for all Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO).  Complies with the spirit and intent of this regulation by providing the resulting identifying number on all bank correspondence, loan documents, and communications with mortgage loan applicants.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort, working with other bank officers, to accomplish related results related to the goals of the bank.
  • Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contact for the bank.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed primarily indoors in an office setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor degree in business/finance/Ag Business or related field
  • Bank lending experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding business banking principles.
  • Skill in performing basic mathematical principles (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals).
  • Written and oral communication skills including the ability to made presentations.
  • Computer literacy including the knowledge of the basic layout and functions of a computer key board.  Understanding of basic word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to cross-sell FCB products and services to customers-such as the ability to identify customers’ needs, communicate services, explain advantages, and close sales activity.
  • Interpersonal skills for working with the public and interacting with co-workers, presenting a professional image of the bank, and servicing prospective and current customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
