Summary/Objective:

Wheeler Trigg ODonnell LLP seeks a Junior Business Intelligence Developer to join its Information Services team. This position serves as a link between the information data services capacity and the firms business objectives. They work closely with financial systems and document technology to provide reports, implement new technology, and identify improvements in processes and workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to identify business process improvements.
  • Design, develop and implement data reporting to address internal questions and challenges.
  • Development reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Development of data extraction, transformation and loading with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Assist in daily database administration activities such as backups, restores, and performance monitoring.
  • Perform quality assurance and validation of data importing and exporting from data systems.
  • Monitor our financial and document life cycle management systems for process improvement opportunities.
  • Help design, document and maintain system processes and new services.
  • Develop strategies for auditing the performance of the firms accounting and document management systems.
  • Identify common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to management.
  • Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve processes and deliver better value to the firm and its clients.

Qualifications and Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technology.
  • Experience in meeting with stakeholders to collect requirements, building and development, documentation, and testing the data and systems in the solution. Experience writing SQL queries and PowerShell scripts.
  • Experience moving data between systems (MS SQL, REST API, Flat Files, etc.).
  • At least 1 year of experience in SQL Server Database Administration.
  • At least 1 year of experience using SSIS and SSRS.
  • Strong technical knowledge or various software programs.
  • Basic knowledge of generating process documentation.
  • Understanding of networks, databases and other technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
