Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Department: Transportation

Reports to: VP of Transportation

 

Objective: Be a vital part of the R.C. McEntire Trucking’s equipment maintenance program by ensuring company equipment is serviced, repaired, and maintained as required by DOT and Manufactures Warranty(s). Work directly with the V.P. of Transportation to ensure compliance of Parts 393 & 396 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation (FMCSR).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use diagnostic equipment to access and identify engine, transmission and electrical potential failures and abuse.
  • Oversee Truck/Trailer shop services
  • Properly documents truck/trailer maintenance
  • Monitor to assure the vehicle maintenance program is in compliance with the FMCSR and applicable laws.
  • Monitor inventories of all oils, lubricants and Diesel Exhaust Fuel (DEF)
  • Maintain vehicle fueling systems assure pump operational and filter changed.
  • Maintain proper truck/trailer tire rotation and tracking program.
  • Assure all equipment stays road worthy.
  • Ensure maintenance shop is a safe and clean work environment
  • Conduct 10% inventory inspection of tools and equipment
  • As needed order maintenance parts, equipment, and lubricants

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years Heavy diesel mechanic experience. Technical Collage/Certificate in lieu of experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • DOT Break certified preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL Strongly Preferred)
  • Experience driving yard jockeys/tractors and tractor trailers preferred
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
