Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. First Step (Residential DetoxificationProgram) Thisis a highly structured inpatient medically monitored detoxification program, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This program offers individual counseling, group therapy, case management, referral services for continuing care, and medical management. First Step is a CARF accredited, DPH licensed 27 bed residential detox unit for individuals aged 18 and over struggling with addiction to alcohol, opiates and/or benzodiazepines.

HOURS

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (occasional evenings and weekends maybe required)

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Direct and supervise (1) Clinical Coordinator (2) Nursing Coordinator and (3) Coordinator of Admissions.
  • Supervises Administrative Assistant.
  • In conjunction with Nursing Coordinator, assist pharmacist with maintaining accurate inventory of Methadone and other controlled substances.
  • Works in close collaboration with nurses, physicians, psychiatric staff, and other healthcare personnel for inpatient evaluation and treatment.
  • Provide weekly administrative and clinical supervision of direct reports. Maintain documentation of all supervision.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings (minimum of 2 monthly). Ensure minutes of meeting are maintained.
  • Conduct routine chart audits to ensure quality, compliance and documentation standards are adhered to.
  • Train and supervise personnel engaged in providing client services.
  • Provide leadership and direction to First Step Management team to ensure census is maintained.
  • Provide oversight and internal reporting for First Step third party billing and authorizations.
  • Compile, prepare and submit reports in a timely manner as required and requested.

  • Conducts chart reviews, chart audits, supervisory approval, and licensed signatures for client treatment plans and assessments.
  • Utilizes conflict resolution skills, assertiveness skills, and skills to build staff morale and cohesion, facilitate clinical staff meetings, and implement staff development plans.
  • Support and provide leadership for RNP initiatives. Work collaboratively with RNP leadership team.
  • Attend Directors meetings as scheduled
  • Participate in development of long-range planning, quality improvement and assurance efforts.
  • Serve as liaison and educator to the community and professional organizations.
  • Provide on call supervision and support for First Step.
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor and agency needs

Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCIES

Hold a license in related human service field (LCSW, LPC, LADC, LMFT). Minimum 3 (three) years’ experience in opiate treatment programming or similar community-based substance abuse treatment organization preferred.

  • Expertise and knowledge of best practices and protocol as it relates to managing a medically monitored withdrawal management.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image at all times.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

Current State of Connecticut license in any of the following fields: Professional Counseling (LPC), Social Work (LCSW) or Drug and Alcohol Counseling (LADC) Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Valid Connecticut driver's license is required.
