Job Summary:

This part-time subject-specific teacher for Summer 2024 is responsible for managing the asynchronous and/or synchronous learning environment for individual instruction. The teacher interacts with students asynchronously by responding to posted course work, answering eSchoolware messages and emails, and creating course-specific resources for the students. The teacher also works to provide synchronous sessions if needed. They also communicate in real-time with the student through a variety of methods, which may include personalized learning sessions or open hours for students. This is a part-time position.  The teacher works remotely from home but may be required to come into the office for professional development or training.

Essential Responsibilities:

Instruction and Student Achievement

o Proficient knowledge of the current curriculum for assigned grade levels and subjects

o Demonstrate knowledge of state standards, testing requirements, and graduation requirements within the core content

o Evaluate and provide feedback for subjective questions in the students’ assessments

o Meet all service level agreements in the expected time as outlined by company/client contracts

 o Provide necessary instruction and tutoring.

o Direct students to supplemental lesson content when necessary

o Supplement and reinforce the curriculum with online and offline materials and activities

 o Use eSchoolware to provide students and parents with regular feedback regarding student performance and progress

o Provide intervention tasks for students to complete to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence to raise achievement and address weaknesses on a particular learning standard

o Support the learning needs of special education students

0 Maintains a caseload of 225-250 enrollments.

o Employed 20 hours per week during the school day (7:30-4:00)

Other duties as assigned

 

Maintain the Virtual Learning Environment

o Manage a home office that supports instruction and student achievement

o Initiate and strengthen relationships with students and their families through many different interactions

 

Professional Responsibilities

o Commit to the use of innovative technology to deliver high-quality instruction to students state-wide

o Participate in monthly staff meetings

o Participate in quarterly professional development sessions

o Communicate with colleagues and supervisors on a regular basis

o Participate in bi-annual performance evaluations

O Maintain confidentiality as required by the law

 

Key Relationships

Internal: Teaching staff, Content team, Advisors, Online Support staff, CSM (Customer Success Manager), EdisonLearning stakeholders and Senior Leadership Team

External: Clients, Parents/Guardians, Students, Advisors, and Special Education staff

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in education related field 

Minimum one-year teaching experience in a traditional (brick & mortar) school preferred

Completion of EdisonLearning training:

o Induction program.

o 16 training hours per year (PA. Act 48)

o Teacher Certification-willingness to pursue certification in other states based on operational need

 o Content proficiency

o Baccalaureate or Advanced degree in the subject to be taught, or have passed a rigorous state content exam in the subject

o Strong written and verbal skills

 o Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

 o Proficiency with multimedia communication tools and programs
