Latin School of Chicago is seeking a Middle/Upper School Physical Education Teacher starting in fall 2024. Our ideal candidate will possess the desire to contribute to a dynamic team of professionals in the promotion of lifelong fitness, wellness, and overall enjoyment of being physically active; demonstrate positivity, optimism, and the ability to support students in a risk-safe environment; and be adept at teaching in a manner that fosters skill development, refinement, and mastery while understanding and meeting the needs of a variety of learning styles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and guidance to students in physical activities
- Create lesson plans based on Latin standards and policies and state regulations
- Track student progress including complications and injuries
- Prepare and maintain equipment for student use as needed
- Teach students about proper techniques of different types of physical activities
- Coaching opportunities may also be available
