Job Description

Description Summary
Dealer Training School candidates will go through training in Blackjack, Roulette, Mini-baccarat or Craps, and two additional specialty carnival games. Learning a second major game within a year of hire will be required. After completion of the dealer school training and successfully passing the audition for each game, eligible candidates will be offered a Table Games Dealer position.

Dealer School:

  • Must pass math competency test in order to get selected for dealer school course.
  • Day and Evening Courses will be offered free of charge (Monday Friday; 4 hours a day)
  • Training will take 6 12 weeks (approx. 120 hours) depending on games trained on
  • Classes are at the Dealer School | 1503 S Battleground Ave., Kings Mountain, NC 28086

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to adhere with and follow Catawba Nation Gaming Commission regulations, casino policies, internal controls, standard operating procedures and conduct all games in accordance with aforementioned regulations, policies, and controls.
Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
Accurately deals the assigned game to the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of that game.
Verbalizes the game in a voice loud enough for the players and supervisors to hear.
Verifies beginning and ending chip and money balances and confirms supporting documentation.
Ensure wagers are placed before cards are dealt.
Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
Possess money-handling skills, count large sums of cash and exchange for table chips
Have an upbeat and positive attitude, creative positive energy with good face and hand gestures and sustain enthusiasm from one interaction throughout shift

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Essential Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
High School diploma or GED.
Public relations and customer service skills.
Oral and written communication skills and able to convey information correctly.
Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
Timeliness, attention to detail and accuracy in performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.
Must possess excellent customer relations and leadership skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Must be able to obtain a Catawba Nation Gaming License
Must be able to pass a background check (no felonies)

Internal Applicant Requirements:
Recent performance rating of three (3) or above.
No Final Written Warning
No more than four (4) attendance points

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, grip, kneel, stoop, and turn.
Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to work in a noise-filled environment, tolerate crowds, varying temperature levels, illumination, vibration, and air quality.
Must be able to operate in stressful situations
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Visual acuity and hearing.
Manual dexterity
Must be able to work a flexible scheduling including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Earn Base Pay plus TIPS Sky is the Limit!!
Full Time Schedules are available immediately following dealer school
