General Qualifications

The Lone Star Lights Event Staff should be a follower of Jesus, who is in accordance with Carolina Creek Christian Camps’ mission statement and statement of beliefs. He/she must be of strong moral character and integrity. Must be able to fulfill all job responsibilities and physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

Position Objective

Would you like to bring joy to others during the Christmas season by helping them experience the love of Jesus? Lone Star Lights is an amazing family-friendly, walk-through Christmas light experience with live entertainment, fun activities for all ages, local vendors, and of course, lights! We are looking for friendly, reliable people to join our team. Our Stable Host greets guests as they visit Rolly the Reindeer’s stable. They assist Rolly in keeping the conversation going with guests and provide keep the crowd at a safe distance from Rolly.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Greet guests as they visit “Rolly the Reindeer” at his stable

  • Help “Rolly” hear soft-spoken guests

  • Improv conversations with “Rolly” and the crowd

  • Provide crowd control for “Rolly”

  • Maintain a polite and warm attitude

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Attend all required staff meetings and events 

 

Additional Requirements

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

 

Pay

Pay is $75 per night with housing and meals provided

 

Setup Days: November 11-21 (Monday - Saturday generally from 9am - 6pm)

Event: November 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30 

           December 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22 (generally from 4pm - 11pm)

Reset Dates: January 3 - January 17 (Monday - Saturday generally from 9am - 6pm)

 

Commitments can be made for the entire season (setup, event, and reset) or certain weeks.

 

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

 

Work Experience

  • Prior performing roles preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Comfortable initiating and carrying on a conversation with people of all ages

  • Creative imagination

  • Must have an exciting and dynamic voice that can convey excitement and joy

  • Able to think on your feet

  • Clear articulation and pronunciation

  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills

  • Team player but able to work independently and with minimal supervision

  • Flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations

  • Able to follow instructions well and ask for clarification if needed

  • Willing to serve in various roles as assigned

  • Willing to work in all types of weather conditions

 

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in all types of weather (hot and humid conditions or extremely cold). Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, walking and ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 60 lbs possibly for long periods of time without breaks.
