Prep Cook
Job Details

FLSA:  Non-exempt  

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  Up to 50% local travel required as needed   

SCHEDULE:  Variable schedule to include some nights and weekends as required  



Under the supervision or direction of a Kitchen Supervisor or Chef, the Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes for final execution or firing by chefs and supervisors as well as packaging and preparing food for delivery to event venues. Additionally, the Prep Cook will assist in the kitchen with any required tasks including, but not limited to, stocking of food and other items, cleaning, and caring for kitchen equipment while practicing safe food handling. · Assist the Event Food Service Lead in executing visually appealing hot and cold dishes 

· Set up prep area workstations for best efficiency 

· Maintain a clean and hygienic work area 

· Inform leadership team of any failures of or maintenance needs for any company vehicles used 

· Assist with loading and unloading to and from delivery vans of food and kitchen equipment 

· Close the venue prep area appropriately 

· Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment 

· Other duties as assigned 


Education: High school diploma or equivalent   


Certification: California Food Handler’s Card required  



· Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation setting required 

· Catering and/or banquet experience a plus 



· Ability to stand or walk for up to eight (8) hours or more in a fast-paced environment requiring movement and the ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs. 

· Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) language skills preferred
