The Overlook Dining Hall

In 2023, Paicines Ranch proudly opened the doors to The Overlook Dining Hall, a culinary haven perched with sweeping panoramic views of the mesmerizing rangeland. Here, we curate extraordinary food and wine experiences that revolve around seasonal fruits, vegetables, and pastured meats sourced from local farmers and ranchers along the central coast of California.

Our menus are a testament to our commitment to sustainability, featuring pastured lamb, beef, pork, and turkey raised right here at Paicines Ranch. Complementing these delectable dishes are our regenerative wines, crafted with organic grapes from the Paicines Ranch Vineyard. When guests dine at Paicines Ranch, they embark on a journey to share our passions, principles, and intentions around food and farming all in ways that are not just delicious but also fun and a little adventurous.

Overview:

As a Bartender, you are responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to our guests while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will contribute to a positive guest experience.

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure adequate stock levels, with reports submitted to the Guest Experience Manager.

  • Prepare the bar for service by setting up garnishes, equipment, and cleaning supplies in advance of scheduled events and ensure full clean up of the bar after events.

  • Adhere to legal regulations by verifying the age of patrons and ensuring minors are not served alcohol; all beer or wine must be opened by the serving bartender.

  • Monitor patrons for signs of intoxication and take appropriate action, including alerting the Guest Experience or Dining Room Manager if necessary.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning and sanitizing the bar area, equipment, and storage spaces.

  • Securely store all alcohol at the end of each shift to prevent unauthorized access.

  • Ensure all glassware is cleaned, polished, and ready for use; promptly clean any dirty glassware during service.

  • Manage waste disposal, including recycling, composting, and trash removal, throughout and after each event.

  • Keep the bar floor clean and free of spills before, during, and after service.

  • Coordinate with the Guest Experience Manager to confirm schedules and purchasing needs before each event.

  • Prepare and maintain garnishes, such as syrups, fruit, and olives, to enhance beverage presentation.

  • Handle cleanup of coffee service at the end of each shift, unless other staff is available for closing duties.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in bartending or hospitality preferred.

  • Have and maintain a ServSafe Alcohol California Certification

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding alcohol service.

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry moderate weights
