Position Overview:

As a Higher Education Sales Representative, your primary goal will be generating sales of and driving demand for Nearpod solutions at higher education institutions in your territory.  You will work on a team with your Manager to develop a territory plan and then execute in order to exceed your monthly goals. You will be developing relationships with higher education departments and institutions. The person in this role will report to the Director of Higher Education Sales.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for generating demand and sales at higher education institutions

  • Provide in-person or virtual demonstrations to prospects

  • Manage sales process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, negotiation and close

  • Overcome customer objections by demonstrating negotiation skills and ability to sell benefits not features

  • Maintain a strong level of knowledge about our products and services

  • Maintain a strong understanding of assigned territory, education vertical and competitive offerings

  • Attend trade shows and in-market events

  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets

  • Build a pipeline through prospecting to support the busy season of our sales cycle which fluctuates with the school year

  • Collaborate with Customer Success team to expand Nearpod’s customer base.

  • Position and present Nearpod as a solution to meet the unique and varied needs of schools

  • Collect information about Nearpod’s product from prospective customers - you will be responsible for keeping a pulse on market trends that could help shape the product moving forward

  • Identify and learn market and competitor trends


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of sales experience required

  • Successful sales experience with higher education Institutions. Experience with health science institutions or teacher’s education is a plus.
