For all SEASONAL positions, we’re looking for avid gardeners, reliable & quick learners who are enthusiastic, outgoing, upbeat (no matter what!), flexible, team-oriented and who will thrive in a busy store. Ability to work weekends is a must. Most positions require lifting 40-70 pounds. Full and Part-time positions start between mid-March and mid-April depending on department.
Customer Service Associates: Applicants must have previous experience working with cash registers/POS systems, customer service, and must enjoy working with the public. Gardening experience is a plus.
Green Goods Sales Team: Do you love plants? We have openings for full and part-time staff that will perform a mix of sales and plant care in our Annuals greenhouses, houseplant greenhouses, perennials and nursery areas. We work as a team and depending upon the applicants experience and working knowledge, he/she/they will be placed in one or more of our plant sales areas - annuals, vegetables, perennials, trees, shrubs, and woody ornamentals.
Wholesale Sales Associates: must have excellent customer service skills, a minimum of one year of nursery experience, and a strong working knowledge of landscaping.
Receiving Associates: must have both a strong back and strong organizational and communication skills; be happy to restock shelves, load carts, check lists, apply labels and unload trucks, all day long.
Yard Associates / Equipment Operators: experience with skid steers, bobcats and heavy equipment is a plus, must have excellent customer service skills as well.
Delivery Truck Drivers: our bulk compost and mulch delivery program is expanding. Applicants must have a valid Vermont Driver’s License, a clean driving record, experience driving large trucks (CDL not required) and have excellent customer service skills. (Williston store only)
Tree/Shrub Installation Associates and Seasonal Gardeners: must have a minimum of one year of landscaping/gardening experience, be able to smile while digging holes in stubborn soils, and be able to lift 50 pounds. Applicants must also have a valid Vermont Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and experience driving large trucks (CDL not required).
