POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for leading a team to meet the production schedule in their assigned area.

REPORTS TO:  Plant Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Enforce safety and sanitation regulations, report all accidents and injuries to department supervisors or management, and comply with accident/injury investigations within the department.  Participate in safety committee when requested.
  2. Ensure quality standards are met, and work to eliminate bloomers and scrap.

 

  1. Direct the work of production personnel to ensure quality, efficiency and thoroughness of tasks.
  2. Trains and coach department personnel.  Help others understand methodology and purpose of work assignments.
  3. Displays thorough knowledge of all tasks associated with department workflows; performs associated tasks as needed.
  4. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure specifications are met.
  5. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records; prepares and maintains accurate records.
  6. Monitors and reports attendance of department personnel.
  7. Oversees the removal of completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as transfer area.
  8. Oversees the cleaning of containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
  9. Work in various production departments (AWEMA, Barline/Molding, Bulk Packaging, Enrobing, Dipping, and Kitchen) as assigned.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. At least 1 year lead or supervisory experience.
  2. Must have strong analytical skills, and the ability to solve problems and be proactive in preventing them.
  3. Comfortable with technology tools: (Microsoft office products, email, Microsoft network accounts)
  4. Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  5. Must be able to carefully follow written and verbal instructions and work well under pressure.
  6. Must be able to accurately convey written and verbal instructions to others.
  7. Strong attention to detail.
  8. Knowledge of RMCF products preferred.
  9. Ability to alternate between prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
  10. Must be able to bend, reach above waist level, grasp small objects, lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 400 pounds on a wheeled cart and/or rack.
