POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading a team to meet the production schedule in their assigned area.
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations, report all accidents and injuries to department supervisors or management, and comply with accident/injury investigations within the department. Participate in safety committee when requested.
- Ensure quality standards are met, and work to eliminate bloomers and scrap.
- Direct the work of production personnel to ensure quality, efficiency and thoroughness of tasks.
- Trains and coach department personnel. Help others understand methodology and purpose of work assignments.
- Displays thorough knowledge of all tasks associated with department workflows; performs associated tasks as needed.
- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure specifications are met.
- Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records; prepares and maintains accurate records.
- Monitors and reports attendance of department personnel.
- Oversees the removal of completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as transfer area.
- Oversees the cleaning of containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
- Work in various production departments (AWEMA, Barline/Molding, Bulk Packaging, Enrobing, Dipping, and Kitchen) as assigned.

- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
