GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY

Setup and Operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or

plastic work pieces.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Read and understand Engineered prints and manufacturing routers.

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills from work instructions, including work and tool offsets.

• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to print specifications, using micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.

• Make “Tool offset” adjustments as necessary to fix out of tolerance conditions.

• Performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned by the Manager.

• Keep work area, machines, and tooling clean.

REQUIRED SKILLS                                                                                     

• Set up and operate Haas CNC lathes, Haas CNC mill, and Swiss CNC lathe w/barfeeder.
• Read blueprints and measure parts using mics, calipers, depth gages, etc.
• Read G&M code and do basic edits.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have transportation to and from work.
• Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED) minimum. Skilled training within 2-year program or additional machining courses highly desired.  2+ years’ experience with CNC operator / setup.
