Description

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a dedicated individual to join our management team as the Director of the Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT). The HOTT Program provides no– and low-cost medical and mental health care to LGBTQ youth, ages 13-24. The Director is responsible for the administrative operations, program development, quality management, marketing/outreach, and funding of the HOTT program. To this end, the Director oversees day-to-day clinical and administrative operations, both on-site and on the mobile medical unit. The Director leads the staff in the ongoing development, evaluation, and improvement of the program; coordinates quality assurance efforts in conjunction with clinical staff and other Callen-Lorde managers; coordinates outreach efforts to expand knowledge of HOTT within both the youth services community and communities of young people; and, provides leadership and prospecting for program funding, as well as management of funding contracts. Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm). Occasional evening hours will be required. 

Qualifications
  • Proven ability and experience in social service program provision, Master’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in the human services, social work or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience providing services to adolescents, including assessment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in non-profit management with a proven track record in successful implementation of programs and development of programs for special needs populations
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience with strong skills in grant writing/reporting, program development, policy and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and practice of positive youth development principles
  • Possess the ability to drive the initiatives of the organization, interact effectively with a diverse staff and be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Desire to work with adolescents and young adults; competence working with disenfranchised youth
  • Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Computer literate
