Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing exemplary customer service to our patrons while representing the organizational mission and brand of Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP.  Primary duties include providing information and selling and printing tickets for Walmart AMP, Walton Arts Center, and other partner organizations.  Event Ticket Representatives are expected to work an entire shift of at least 5 hours at the Walmart AMP box office.


Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Sell, process, and print tickets.
  • Help solve ticketing issues.
  • Maintain the highest levels of accuracy with regard to all ticket-related and financial transactions.
  • Maintain cash drawers with appropriate change.
  • Maintain clean database through patron merges and up to date patron information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and act as an information resource regarding programming.
  • Work to communicate organizational mission and reinforce the organization’s brand.
  • Communicate Box Office and organizational policies to patrons.
  • Represent Walton Arts Center / Walmart AMP at both on and off-site events, as requested.
  • Check and return phone messages.
  • Keep box office space clean and clear of clutter.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with teammates, fellow staff members from other departments, vendors, patrons, and tenants of leased spaces.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education, Training, Traits

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to learn and operate Windows based systems (Tessitura).
  • Ability to use standard Microsoft Office Tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve while keeping a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone or in person to provide excellent services to many different types of people
  • An on-going desire to learn and improve
  • Able to work in large, crowded environments, with loud music, noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of shows and events
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with hours including early mornings, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards


Work Experience

  •    1 year related experience and/or training, preferable.



  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time
