Parent Educator

The Parent Effectiveness  Intervention program (PEIP) is looking for a Parent Educator to work with families in order to improve their parenting skills in a supportive environment.  This position is working in Hudson, NY.

The Parent Effectiveness  Intervention program (PEIP)Integrates a group learning, where evidence-based parenting curricula, Active Parenting and Incredible Years, are presented, with home based parent education and support as needed. Classes are provided for parents of children: 1 - 12 years old and adolescents. 

 

What a Parent Educator can expect:

  • The Clinical Case Manager will assess parenting needs and make recommendations based on those needs.
  • Facilitate curriculum-based parent education classes.  Currently being held virtually.
  • Ensure the coordination of classes of various age ranges, around the participants schedules. 
  • Complete individualized home-based parent education follow-up, and intervention as determined during enrollment process.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:30AM - 5PM; flexible schedule with evenings.

 

Your Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, criminal justice, psychology, human services or related field preferred;
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families;
  • Home and community based experience a plus.
