Requirements:

 

• Assisting senior staff with highway and traffic engineering and design projects including signing & striping design; geometric design; traffic engineering studies; traffic signal and lighting design; work zone temporary traffic control plans; street and highway design; conducting field reviews; preparation of specifications and cost estimates; and completion of final documents for traffic and transportation engineering projects.

• Prepares technical reports or sections of larger reports.

• Prepares plan details and outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates and performs calculations for a specific segment of a project.

• Assists in preparation of technical specifications.

• Evaluates vendor bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications.

• Provides assistance and support to a proposal team or proposal manager.

• Lays out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project.

• Reviews and approves design drawings for assigned segment of project.

• Assists with development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures.

• Prepares technical reports.

• Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data, as necessary.

• Preliminary supervisory responsibilities to junior staff.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

  • 1-4 years of experience working on civil transportation projects

  • EIT is preferred.

  • The position requires a person with a strong knowledge of the California MUTCD, traffic and civil engineering concepts, and proficiency in CADD applications such as AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

 

 

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $90,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment
