Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity, and respect.

 

The Center for Human Services(CHS)located in Stratford, Connecticut is a CARF accredited, Department of Public Health licensed, medication-assisted treatment program for opiate addicted persons utilizing prescribed methadone or buprenorphine/suboxone, and supportive counseling in conjunction with other support and referral services. The persons served attend individual counseling to address drug use/abuse, personal/family, employment, health, and legal issues. Group and family counseling, in addition to intensive outpatient services are offered to those who voluntarily seek additional support. Clients at CHS also have access to psychiatric care.

 

In accordance with RNP's Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Policies and under the supervision of the Program Director provide general direction and supervision to departmental staff and may manage an assigned caseload of clients with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues by performing the following duties as listed below.

 

Hours 

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (some flexibility required)

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises staff and provides training and support with client assessments and treatment planning and crisis management.
  • Works directly in treatment relationship with an assigned caseload of clients in individual, group and/or family therapy sessions.
  • Implements therapeutic treatment using approved methods of planning, counseling, case management and crisis intervention.
  • Assists clients in overcoming substance abuse disorders and other co-occurring issues.
  • Prepares and maintains timely and accurate clinical records on assigned clients and issues reports.
  • Ensures own clinical documentation and the documentation of his/her team meets RNP, state and federal documentation rules and laws.
  • Reviews management of cases, provides assignments, problem-solves on cases regarding client issues and methods of treatment.
  • Works in close collaboration with physicians, psychiatric staff and other health care personnel in client evaluation and treatment.
  • Assists the department director in long range planning and quality improvement.
  • Responsible for conducting chart reviews, audits, and supervisory approval.
  • Provides on-call coverage and support as scheduled
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCIES

Master degree in behavioral health services. Two (2) years of supervisory experience in the substance abuse, mental health areas and co-occurring experience required.

  • A passion for helping others.
  • DARC certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling.
  • Knowledge of community resources & the ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Knowledge of the physical, psychological, and social economic effects of substance abuse, homelessness, medical & mental health issues.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the care of clients.
  • Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) software strongly preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to project a professional image.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

Masters Level Degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field. License or License eligible strongly preferred (LADC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC).  Valid CT drivers' license will be required if duties involve transporting clients using RNP vehicles.
