Summary
The Production Team Member is accountable for the proper handling, inspecting, sorting and feeding of raw materials during the production process. Additionally, this position is responsible for inspecting the overall quality, proper packaging, labeling and storage or finished materials. All Production members are responsible for general housekeeping and safety of their work areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow company policies & procedures, including guidelines/instructions set by the Production Supervisor
- Maintain adequate production rate for the assigned process/ area (bagging, buffings, grind), efficient and accurate
- Ongoing general housekeeping of work area
- General working knowledge of processing & production equipment (buffings, bagging, grind)
- Sort raw material for contaminants and sizing, which may require physical moving of material
- General knowledge of raw material including proper identification & use
- Consistent physical activity, including but not limited to standing for extended periods of time, lifting/carrying 55 pounds, bending, squatting or other physical requirements
- Identify and recognize finished product sizing
- May be required to operate a forklift and other applicable equipment and machinery according to safety and training guidelines
- Engage in clear, consistent and professional communication between Production Supervisor and other Production Team Members
- Responsible for unloading/loading of raw materials and other product, this may include physical lifting or by other means
- Work cohesively as a team for maximum production output
- Perform proper sealing, stacking, wrapping and labeling during production and bagging process
- Look for ways to minimize waste
- General knowledge of equipment setup & emergency shut off, including Lock-out tag our and other safety related items
- Remain conscious of quality improvements and report any concerns to Supervisor as they arise
- Other duties that may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor

- High school diploma required
- Must be a minimum of 17 years old
- Forklift experience helpful
