Position Responsibilites

  • The Discipleship Director at NewSpring Florence Campus is responsible for the overall discipleship culture at the campus alongside the Campus Pastor. This person must carry a passion for developing disciple making leaders, building teams, and growing a culture within our campus where people opt into discipleship opportunities.
  • Continually grow, shepherd and challenge a lead team of men and women who build and execute the discipleship ministry at the NewSpring Florence Campus.
    • This includes but is not limited to: On-site and Off-site groups, Connect Class, Baptism, Classes, Prayer and Outreach 
  • Work closely with the Florence Campus Pastor to implement global and local discipleship vision. 
  • Execute and uphold the Discipleship MPS, and build the discipleship ministry using the vision, resources, training and strategy of NewSpring Church. 
  • Build teams and execute ministry in a way that is reflected in Rock and other provided systems, and can be shown through provided metrics.  
  • Assist and Support Campus Pastor with any pastoral duties and responsibilities, as well as other initiatives as assigned. 
  • Meet regularly to set metrics goals in the areas outlined in Discipleship Missions, Pillars and Standards (MPS).

Qualifications

  • Display a proven passion for their own personal discipleship to Jesus.
  • Have a hunger for the word of God and a devotion to a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, community and missional living.
  • Have a proven passion to see others grow in their discipleship with Jesus and have a gifting and track record for developing disciple making leaders and teams. 
  • Display humility, a desire for coaching and growth, and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Do whatever it takes to help the church reach its mission to see everyone, everywhere in an everyday relationship. Occasionally this will mean performing duties and tasks outside of your normal job responsibilities.
  • Uphold Biblical priorities in life, in the order outline below:
    1. Growing personal relationship with Jesus
    2. Relationship with spouse (if married)
    3. Relationship with children (if applicable)
    4. Purpose in life/ministry
  • Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of NewSpring Church staff members, as defined by the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
  • Financially support the vision of NewSpring Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
