CORE COMPETENCIES
- Bachelors degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Co-occurring competencies and or credentials are preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of social service case management.
- Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and economic effects of substance abuse, mental health, and trauma.
- Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the provision of quality cases.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to project a professional image.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:
- Incumbents may be encouraged to secure professional certification (e.g., CAC and/or SCCD).
- A valid Connecticut drivers license is required.
