Associate Investment Officer

         Provides comprehensive and disciplined portfolio management services to wealth management clientele and supports Trust Investment Officer.


Portfolio Management:                                  

  • Develops account investment policies/objectives.

  • Initiates trades.

  • Monitors account performance/tolerances.

  • Periodically reviews investment performance/objectives with account officers and clients.

  • Coordinates and executes the daily mutual fund, stock and bond trading.

  • Assists in monthly portfolio review and follow-up process to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, procedures as well as Investment Policy Statement of each account.

  • Maintain soft dollar accounts.

  • Monitor maturing bonds.

  • Execute Portfolio realignment strategies as directed.

  • Monitors directed trades and authorizations.

Account Administration:    

  • Meets with clients as requested by Wealth Advisors/Trust Officers and approved by SVP Investment Officer to support investment story. 

  • Provides support for accounts maintained by SVP Investment Officer.

Committee Oversight:           

  • Participates in Committees as directed.

  • Assists in preparation of Committee packages.

Liaison with Trust Operations Solutions Banks: 

  • Supports Investment Officer in serving as liaison with Operations Solutions banks.

  • Assists with consultation with Trust Operations Solutions Banks, Trust Officers and Wealth Advisors.

  • Assists in management of select Trust Operations Solutions Bank client accounts.


  • Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures.

  • Maintains investments according to the Uniform Prudent Investor Act.

Other Duties:   

  • Assists with preparation of economic updates and other investment-oriented marketing/educational materials.

  • Assists with business development as requested.

  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Prepares activity and status reports regarding prospects and business development activities.

  • Delegates effectively to administrative assistant staff.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contact for the company.

  • Attends mandatory compliance and security sessions.  Monitors daily work for adherence to compliance and security regulations, policies/procedures, and promptly corrects any deficiencies.

  • Performs tasks that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the Investment Officer including special projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required - Business/Finance/Economics (preferred).
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • Basic understanding of investment and economic fundamentals.
    • Preferably some related work experience in a trust department, investment firm, brokerage firm, community bank, financial services company, or other professional environment.

Skill in performing basic mathematical principals in account transactions
