Position Overview

The position’s primary responsibilities include the optimal performance & regular maintenance of all Audio equipment inside & outside of theatrical spaces.  Additionally, the Audio Supervisor must ensure the execution of Audio requirements of touring productions and WAC produced events. This position will supervise WAC technicians and local crew members, as well as work with touring technicians, to present any event in the most efficient and professional manner possible.


Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Ensure success in all aspects of Audio Services and the optimal performance of all Audio equipment campus-wide
  • Lead, train and develop stage technicians and local crew
  • Maintain & purchase all Audio equipment
  • Mount all touring/client Audio systems within the predetermined schedule
  • Coordinate necessary rental equipment, backline & schedules
  • Design and execute all Audio needs for WAC produced events
  • Represent Walton Arts Center / Walmart AMP at both on and off-site events, as requested.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with teammates, fellow staff members from other departments, vendors, patrons, and tenants of leased spaces
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain security and safety requirements as defined by operations guidelines
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education, Training, Traits

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual language skills a plus
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Strong team lead
  • Proficient with large PA systems, on-stage audio monitoring systems, pro-level audio consoles, RF systems, stage patching, house patching, microphone technique, pro-level mixing techniques, ClearCom systems, 70V pendant systems, network control interfaces, repeated 2-way radio systems
  • Comfortable with consistently adhering to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Experience with Audio system installation, equipment repair, and network communication
  • Proficient with MS Windows, MS Office, Mac OS Platform, Meyer Compass, Meyer MAPP XT, Yamaha CL Editor, Avid VENUE Software, Crestron Control, Harman Band Manager, NEXO NS-1, Ableton, ProTools, Shure Wireless Workbench, Behringer X-32, Q-Lab, Dante Network, et al.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to interact with many different types of people

  • Ability to work independently as well as with others to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years professional audio mixing experience
