Summary: Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Assistant Director, Donor Services is responsible for overseeing the delivery of Houston Ballet donors’ membership benefits, ensuring excellent service and proper stewardship of patrons. Additionally, this position will have a portfolio of key current and prospective donors, with the expectation of strengthening donor relationships with the Ballet and is an integral part of the Individual Giving team’s goal to build a community of donor dance enthusiasts.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned;

  • Serve as a primary liaison and key relationship manager for Houston Ballet’s Ambassador and Young Ambassador patron groups
  • Provide ticketing concierge services to Ambassadors, including overseeing all ticket exchanges and subscription renewals
  • Manage the fulfillment of membership benefits for individual donors by implementing benefits delivery strategy for the season
  • Supervise the Donor Services Manager position
  • Manage Green Room performance receptions, production underwriter dinners and Founders Salon reservations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendors and for Houston First – completing service requests, organizing catering and other event needs and invoicing
  • Manage a personal portfolio of key individual donors and prospects (exact number to be determined)
  • Serve as the Individual Giving representative at Production Meetings and Wortham Operations meetings
  • Maintain correct donor listings in all performance programs
  • Manage front-end donor experience for Houston Ballet membership pages
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in Tessitura related to donor giving and activities
  • Assist with the re-integration of the Nutcracker Market into Development by taking part in Market and Guild activities
  • Operate as an integral member of the Development Department
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Minimum REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher degree required
  • Minimum of three years of progressive professional development experience in non-profit setting
  • Minimum of three years of event planning experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A respect for confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and be able to meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional computer skills, including prior database, Word, and Excel experience

 

Preferred ADDITIONAL Qualifications:

  • Prior dance experience or knowledge is helpful.
  • Tessitura experience a significant plus.
