POSITION SUMMARY:  Accurately reflects the status of trust accounts by verifying and completing trust transactions.


Process and Maintain Trust Processing System:           70%

    • Authorizes security deliveries/receipts to custodian.
    • Employee benefit contributions/distributions.
    • Performs cash management activities, including recapping, wires, and ACH.
    • Prepares DDA deposits and withdrawals.
    • Generate, balance and print checks.
    • Generate, sort, and mail customer statements.
    • Communicates with staff and back offices, fields questions and provides technical support.
    • Assists in training of staff on new policies/procedures.
    • Posts daily trust account transactions for Trust and back office client accounts.
    • Balance trust DDA daily.
    • Posts asset deliveries/receipts to client accounts.

Account Maintenance:                                     10%

    • Opens/closes accounts on trust processing system.
    • Opens/closes mutual fund accounts and bank accounts.
    • Files account documentation and/or prepares for scanning.

Trades :                                                           10%

    • Executes authorized stock, bond & mutual fund trades.
    • Executes authorized CD purchases, etc.
    • Provides trade notices to clients.

Other Duties:                                                   10 %

      • Provides backup for trust operations staff during absences.
      • Trains new staff on operations, policies and procedures.
      • Maintains dual control and segregation of duties as required by Treas. Reg. 9.
      • Complies with regulations regarding client privacy and financial security
      • Assists trust staff when required – act as a liaison between trust operations and administration.
      • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
      • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects trust operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contact for the company.
  • Attends mandatory compliance and security sessions.  Monitors daily work for adherence to compliance and security regulations, policies/procedures, and promptly corrects any deficiencies.


  • Work is performed primarily indoors in an office setting.

  • High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • Proficient clerical skills that include use of standard office equipment, word processing, and spreadsheet experience.
  • Minimum 2-years banking/trust experience, preferred.
  • Skill in performing basic mathematical principles (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals) in account transactions.
  • Knowledge of the layout and functions of the computer keyboard and ten key adding machine; skill of using the touch system to perform data input.
  • Organization skills in both paper and electronic files.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and banking.
